Abstract
Gender inequality is a pressing issue in contemporary society due to the persistence of some
organisations that maintain antiquated beliefs about male superiority over females. This
limited inquiry scope might explain the conflicting outcomes shown in the literature. Hence,
this study examines gender diversity and organisational competitiveness in selected
multinationals companies in Nigeria. A random selection approach will be used to examine
the five multinational institutions. The research used a secondary source of data. Data was
extracted from the financial statements of the selected multinational companies financial
statements from 2015-2022. The companies were selected based the fact that they are the
top performing financial institutions in Nigeria. Research findings indicate that women have a
higher propensity for prompt lead response, display increased levels of engagement, and
contribute to improved income generation. Nevertheless, the Nigerian sales sector persists in
exhibiting inadequate representation of women in influential positions, despite the fact that
earnings may increase by up to 50% when women are adequately represented in executive
roles. Research has shown that companies that prioritise gender diversity tend to outperform
their rivals and achieve more profitability. Gender diversity has a crucial role in many
contexts. The study recommends that The enhancement of women's representation in
management positions can be achieved through the implementation of various strategies.
These include ensuring commitment from leadership and transparency, establishing formal
positions in management, implementing talent growth and promotion programmes, raising
knowledge, providing essential services, and offering flexible employment possibilities and
leave rights and responsibilities.
