dc.description.abstractEffective communication is crucial in any society as it has the power to promote development and improve the quality of life of individuals. This comprehensive overview investigates how applied communication research can be used to examine socioeconomic challenges such as education, politics, economy, society, and health in Nigeria. With a focus on how communication might be utilized as a tool for addressing these difficulties, the review explores the themes, theories, periods of publication, and methodologies used in several articles, research papers, and journals written on different socio-economic challenges individually. In addition to shedding light on the efficacy of various communication tactics, the review emphasizes the value of practical communication research in recognizing and addressing socioeconomic difficulties and the logical conclusion of research work on this topic. The assessment concludes with recommendations for further study in the area, highlighting the necessity of more investigation into the connection between communication and socioeconomic difficulties.
