Abstract

Explorations in Critical Discourse and New Media Studies is a collection of essays written in honour of a foremost Nigerian linguist, Prof. Rotimi Taiwo who has greatly influenced the terrain of linguistic scholarship in Nigeria, especially in the fields of critical discourse and new media studies. As his curriculum vitae shows, Prof. Taiwo has published extensively in these areas to such an extent that any paper that focuses on these two areas in Nigerian linguistic studies will be termed incomplete, if at least one of his works is not cited in the study. Hence, we deem it appropriate to focus on these two current engagements in which Prof Taiwo has proven to be a world-class scholar.
