Abstract
African theatre existed in many places except in enclosed buildings. In the last few decades, theatre practitioners and researchers all over the world are gradually moving away from 'theatre buildings' in the quest for a newer space other than an enclosure. Whereas African theatre had moved, in the same period, from 'the round', 'shrine', 'road path', 'market square', etc., to its present literary space. This chapter looks at the various places and spaces that are invisible yet accessible through the stages of African literary theatre tradition
