dc.description.abstract | African Biblical hermeneutics as science of interpreting the Bible inAfrican context has its guidelines — African Interpretative Methods and various Interpretative Formulae. These methods are not exclusive of Western methods as they compliment themselves and must be used by African Christian Theologians complimentarily. The use of these methods is not without its challenges because the scriptures are not just ordinary texts but texts which human beings need to understand and the principles of understanding any text also apply to the Bible in order to deal with the Bible as an organic whole. In addition, the Bible must be made to address all human challenges in Africa. To do this successfully, the works of leading African Theologians were reviewed and suggestions and recommendations for better African Christian Theology brought to the limelight | en_US |
