- ItemOptimal Production Control of Multiple-Product Manufacturing System(LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing, 2013-11-01) Onanaye, Adeniyi SamsonThis thesis deals with the optimal control of a one-machine multiple-product manufacturing system with setup changes, operating in a continuous time dynamic environment. The system is deterministic. When production is switched from one product to the other, a known constant setup time and a setup cost are incurred. Each product has specified constant processing time and constant demand rate, as well as an infinite supply of raw material. The problem was formulated as a feedback control problem. The optimal solution provides the optimal production rate and setup switching epochs as a function of the state of the system (backlog and inventory levels). For the steady state, the optimal cyclic schedule was determined. To solve the transient case, the system’s state space was partitioned into where n is the number of products, mutually exclusive regions such that with each region, the optimal control policy was determined analytically. From the result of analysis, a number of recommendations were made, which if fully implemented, the consequence is an efficient and effective management of the system leading to optimal productivity.
- ItemQuadratic Programming as An Optimization Tool for Portfolio Management(, International Journal of Mathematics and Computer Applications Research (IJMCAR), 2016-09-01) Onanaye, Adeniyi SamsonIn this paper, an investigation of Nigerian stocks was carried out. The principal task concerns essentially optimizing the portfolio or investors in Nigeria Stocks. Observations revealed that, though it is possible to get profits from investments in some securities but attached to them are some measure of risks. The paper has been able to provide a solution to the problem of balancing the profits and risks attached in the management of portfolios. The optimization tools used in this work includes the mean-variance principle which was used to model the problem and the extended simplex method which was employed in solving the problem.
- ItemSteady State Solution of Optimal Production Control of a Dynamic Five-Product Manufacturing System with Setup Costs and Setup Time(International Journal of Numerical Methods and Applications, 2011-10-03) Onanaye, Adeniyi SamsonThe steady state solution of optimal control of a one-machine five-product manufacturing system with setup changes, operating in a continuous time dynamic environment is considered here. The system is deterministic. When production is switched from one product to the other, a known constant setup time and a setup cost are incurred. Each product has specified constant processing time and constant demand rate, as well as an infinite supply of raw material. The problem is formulated as a feedback control problem. The aim is to minimize the total backlog, inventory and setup costs incurred over a finite horizon. The optimal solution provides the optimal production rate and setup switching epochs as a function of the state of the system (backlog and inventory levels).
- ItemSteady State Solution of Optimal Production Control of a Dynamic Four-Product Manufacturing System with Setup Costs and Setup Time(International Journal of Numerical Methods and Applications, 2009-09-01) Onanaye, Adeniyi SamsonThe steady state solution of optimal control of a one-machine four-product manufacturing system with setup changes, operating in a continuous time dynamic environment is considered here.
- ItemSteady State Solution of Optimal Production Control of a Dynamic Six-Product Manufacturing System with Setup Costs and Setup Time(Journal of the Nigerian Association of Mathematical Physics, 2012-11-01) Onanaye, Adeniyi SamsonThe steady state solution of optimal control of a one-machine six-product manufacturing system with setup changes, operating in a continuous time dynamic environment is considered here. The system is deterministic. When production is switched from one product to the other, a known constant setup time and a setup cost are incurred. Each product has specified constant processing time and constant demand rate, as well as an infinite supply of raw material. The problem is formulated as a feedback control problem.
